En3 has done innovative work to help YCH Logistics become the first green warehouse in India and one of the few in the world to achieve LEED certification as it was awarded LEED Gold certification from the Indian Green Building Council. This unique project is a 100% day lit warehouse where the entire 3.5 lakh square feet of warehousing space spread over 2 buildings does not require any artificial lights during the day. The buildings further incorporate energy efficient T5 and CFL lighting with sensors and is an excellent example of how sustainability can be adopted to non-conventional buildings and operations. In addition the warehouse has insulated roof and walls and is naturally ventilated to minimize energy consumption as much as possible. The entire rain water on-site is captured and stored in huge rain water harvesting ponds with capacity over 12 lakhs liters per day and in addition to this the building incorporates a sewage treatment plant to recycle treated water for flushing and irrigation, uses very low flow fixtures and several green materials.
